About adearnings
adearnings is a free ad revenue calculator and guide for people who earn money from ads on apps, games and websites. It's run by a small, independent team: the adearnings team.
Why we built it
Most ad revenue calculators give you a big number and no way to check it. We wanted one that shows its workings: what goes into the estimate, where each benchmark comes from, and which parts are our own assumptions. That way you can decide how much to trust the result.
How the numbers are built
The calculator uses the same formula ad networks use: impressions ÷ 1,000 × eCPM for apps, and pageviews ÷ 1,000 × RPM for websites. Format eCPMs, the gap between regions and the gap between iOS and Android are set within published benchmarks. Everything we couldn't find a neutral public source for, such as website RPMs, category multipliers and fill rates, is labelled on the page as our estimate.
The full method and the numbered source list are in How the estimate is built on the calculator page.
How we keep it accurate
- Every factual claim links to a source. That includes numbers, network rules and platform policies, on the calculator and in every article. If we can't source something, we say it's our estimate, or we leave it out.
- Pages show when they were last checked. Ad networks change their rules often, so each article and calculator page carries a date.
- We're independent. We aren't affiliated with any ad network, and no network pays to be listed or ranked. The ranking is the calculator's output for your settings, nothing else.
- Corrections are welcome. If something is wrong or out of date, email us and we'll fix it.
How the site is funded
The site shows ads from Google AdSense, the same kind of ads this site helps you estimate. They're placed by hand, away from the calculator's controls. Our privacy policy and cookie policy explain what that involves.
